WEDDING GOWN ALTERATIONS

The first fitting will generally last one hour as your tailor begins to assess your dress and the alterations needed. Following the first hour-long appointment, each subsequent fitting should take less time since the dress is getting closer and closer to the perfect fit. How many fittings you’ll need may all depend on the number of alterations required and how much your body changes during that time.

More extensive changes can be made with enough budgeted time and money (these will cost more). Customizations include adding details like off-the-shoulder straps, sleeves, train length, lace appliqués, beading, buttons, and a bustle. We love helping you to personalize your look! Whether you want to add an illusion neckline, add sleeves, make a topper, or even add beading or lace, our team of expert seamstresses can help you create your dream dress!

Your seamstress can do a lot for you — from adding sleeves/straps to changing the neckline, lowering the back. The degree of alteration possible will vary depending on how the dress is constructed in some cases because certain alterations could compromise the structure of the dress. Some common alterations include adding a waist stay, shortening the straps, altering the closure, altering the neckline, and changing the back.

Please bring shoes of the heel and platform height you plan to wear (so we can mark your hem), and any undergarments you plan to wear to all of your appointments, and if you have multiple options, your seamstress will help you pick which will work best for your body type and shape. Bringing bridal accessories, such as earrings, necklaces, and totes, is also a good idea if you want to incorporate them into your wedding attire.

At Celebration Alterations Co. we make it simple and easy to schedule your fittings according to your timeline and schedule. We recommend starting the process 2-3 months prior to your wedding date. However, we accommodate for rush services at an additional cost. Please contact the studio you are visiting to inquire about our bridal rush services.

Yes. Once your garments are complete, we package them carefully and deliver them back to you via our courier service.

For mobile alterations, same day or next-day mobile appointments may be available depending on your location and schedule. Contact us for availability.

No. Our fitters only need a small, well-lit area where you can comfortably try on your garments. We bring everything else.

Our mobile tailor service covers everyday clothing, business wear, designer garments, outerwear, leather, formal wear, and bridal items. If a garment requires special handling, our fitter will advise you during your appointment.
